Busy Weekend.
This weekend signals the first game situation hitout for some of Renwicks talented and experienced players.
The first Marlborough Rep team of the season has been named to play Johnsonvillle in 3 games over the weekend, with one 1dayer and two T20s.
Two Renwick cricketers have been named in this side. Congrats to Rikki Bovey named in the eleven, slated to open the batting and myself who will be juggling saturday rep and South Island masters games on sunday.
A wider drinking squad making up two teams will travel to Nelson on Sunday to replicate heroics of two years ago at the South Island masters tournament. These teams have players with seasons of experiance and should thrive in the six-aside last man standing tournament.
Lots and lots of firepower here!!!!!
Outdoor training has begun, Wednesdays 5.30pm. All senior players (senior A and B) are welcome, and i will endevour to run structured and benficial trainings.
Presidents Vs Chairmans games for selected Senior A squad members will commence on 10th October and consist of 3 50 over games over three weeks. Teams will be announced early next week.
Second grade starts 17th Oct so get those bats out and get the hands hardened up.
A wider Senior A squad will be announced next week, whilst not set in stone these players will make up the core of players from which the selection panel can pick a senior team from. If myself or Rikki havnt seen you at a training yet and you think youd be interested please get along this coming wednesday night. BTW i understand people have lives outside cricket so please get in touch if you cant make trainings.
Lastly thanks to the Bovey Family for their generous donation for a dozen senior cricket balls.
Often players dont relize how much that new cherry costs each week. thanks.
Donations like this help our small club thrive and really represent community spirit.
